I'd better post what I want for Christmas before it's too late. For the last eight years I've wanted W out of office in one form or another, but now I've got that, so I'm at a bit of a loss this year.
What do I want?

As noted here and here, the Bush administration is, unsurprisingly, hard at work making sure that no evidence remains that he and his cronies ... well that they ever really existed. I had noted several years ago that apparently the lower-level folks were getting in some practice on largely inconsequential stuff. And I suppose there's some consolation in that despite the current condition of the economy, the manufacturers of shredders are no doubt doing well. By the time they get done, the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Crawford, Texas will probably have few enough artifacts left to easily fit into the old City Jail, with room to spare for George himself.

I almost feel sorry for 'em. Almost.
It must be kind of like being in a bunker for these people, waiting for the inevitable, trying to deny it, thinking first happy, then desperate, then deranged, thoughts.
They're going to snap come Wednesday.
And when Barack Obama, the first African-American President of the United States of America, is sworn in on 20 Jan 09, these people are going to totally
LOSE
IT.
That's the tipping-point of cognitive dissonance. At that point, you either reach an alternate conclusion through use of your god-given capability for reason, that which distinguishes you from the lower animals, or else you lose your mind and become an animal. I'm hoping the vast majority of them will fall into the former category.
Those that fall into the latter category we can put back into the nuthouses that Reagan closed down. I'm for leaving off the water and electric though, after all they'd do the same for me.
